Today at the House Republican leadership’s press conference, Chairman Royce spoke about why the House will vote today on H.R. 3364, the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act. Below are the video and transcript of his remarks.

“North Korea and Russia and Iran all pose serious threats to our national security. Successive administrations have struggled and failed to address them, and it is well past time to respond with meaningful action. So in recent months, it’s been encouraging to see the United States finally put Iran on notice for its support for terrorism and other dangerous acts and press Beijing to play a productive role in countering Kim Jong Un. Now it’s time to take the next steps. So, later today, the House will vote on bipartisan legislation to hold Russia and Iran and North Korea accountable for their aggression. This is a strong, bipartisan bill that will increase the United States’ economic and political leverage. And I want to thank Leader McCarthy and all who helped to get to this agreement. And I look forward to seeing it become law.”
