The House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, Energy & the Environment will hold a virtual hearing to examine the state of democracy in Europe and Eurasia amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It will focus in particular on the protests in Belarus since its fraudulent August 9, 2020 presidential election, and how the U.S. can work with its European allies and partners to support the aspirations of the people of Belarus for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
