This hearing will introduce members of the Committee to the 71st United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.  In his first appearance before the Committee, the secretary will outline President Joe Biden’s central foreign policy priorities and discuss steps the State Department has taken since the president and Secretary Blinken took office in January 2021.  Committee members will be provided the opportunity to ask Secretary Blinken questions regarding various challenges America faces around the world, with an eye toward identifying ways in which the new Administration’s approach aligns with or diverges from previous efforts under President Donald Trump.
