Chairman Yoho on the hearing: “Retaining effective programs and initiatives that strengthen our partnerships and further U.S. interests throughout South Asia needs to be our primary objective.  To gain further insight into these programs, the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific will hold a hearing on the State Department’s FY 2018 South Asia budget. This hearing will be an opportunity for Members of Congress to have a productive conversation with representatives from the State Department and USAID on how best to maximize U.S. foreign assistance programs in South Asia.”
