Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released this statement on the postponement of Thursday’s hearing to examine accountability within the State Department following the September 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya:

“Thursday’s hearing is postponed.  Mr. Raymond Maxwell and others will testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee in September.  The Committee will continue its work reforming the Accountability Review Board process that investigated the facts surrounding the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya.” 

Note:  The hearing, entitled “Benghazi: Progress on State Department Accountability?,” was to be held Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m. in Rayburn 2172.
