Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo announced the United States and the European Union will launch a U.S.-EU dialogue on the People’s Republic of China. House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul recently called for better dialogue between the two in order to address the threat posed to democratic nations by the Chinese Communist Party.  Below is a statement from McCaul on today’s announcement:

“I have recently been speaking with key European Ambassadors on the need for Europe to join the United States and our allies to combat the Chinese Communist Party’s global malign influence. Now, more than ever, we need to work together. Today’s announcement by Secretary Pompeo is a significant step towards a continued dialogue between the U.S. and the EU as we both combat the largest generational threat posed by the CCP.”
