Washington D.C. – Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the latest coronavirus updates, including the Administration’s funding request.

“From the outset of the coronavirus outbreak, the Trump Administration has been vigilant in their efforts to curb its spread worldwide and protect Americans and Texans wherever they may be. As the Republican Leader of the Committee that oversees the State Department, I’m especially proud of Secretary Pompeo and our diplomats who have put themselves in harm’s way to rescue Americans around the globe.  I appreciate that the Administration requested funding to bolster their ongoing efforts to prevent the further spread of this disease and the threat it poses to the homeland. It is vital that as Members of Congress we ensure our government has the support they need to keep us safe from this dangerous virus and all potential outbreaks.”
